Dead Silence
April 29, 2009
Pretty creepy horror about ventriloquists dolls. You gotta admit they are scary things at times… This follows a series of gruesome murders and the link via an old lady who was a vent and her dolls.
Kinda cool. Not too cheesy and with a really great twist at the end.

Playing at the Three Cranes Hotel
April 24, 2009
This Saturday night (25th) Ray, Tony, Myself and maybe others will be playing at the Three Cranes Hotel in Sheffield. You’d be very welcome!
This place used to be the headquarters of the Sheffield Circle of Magicians and I did my audition in the upstairs room way back in 1998! – Be nice to visit the place again.

Crank 2 – High Voltage
April 20, 2009
Yikes.
I liked the first one of these. It’s a cool mental comic book of a movie.
Not sure what happened here then. It was a wandering waste of a movie I’m afraid… I can even buy the ‘Chev has his heart stolen and needs to keep the battery one charged till he can find it again’ storyline. Didn’t even blink when I found out he survived that fall from a hellicopter at the end of the first movie. But the mismatched attempts at humour (Godilla fight scenes!) and coolness that followed was just tooooo rubbish to care really… Shame.

The Damned United
April 20, 2009
Well crafted biopic that follows Brian Clough in his short stay as Leeds United manager. It also covers the backstory and was a good film to watch. I’m no football fan but really enjoyed the characters and especially the recreated look of the 70′s. Top notch.

Paul Blart – Mall Cop
April 13, 2009
So we decided to go for comedy and chose Paul Blart. I enjoyed it, it had some laugh out loud moments and never tried to be more than it is. Kevin James makes me smile – but the worrying thing is that there’s another security guard comedy coming next month starring Seth Rogan – Observe and Report.
Some cool segway vs skateboard chases though.
